During a recent EGM, the shareholders of SRK Exploration have elected Andy Barrett and Bill Kellaway to the Board of Directors. This follows the departures of Gareth O’Donovan and Bill Brodie Good who stepped down in January and May respectively to pursue other opportunities. Gareth, who founded the company in 2003, set the direction and tone of the company, serving as MD and then Chairman. Many of the aspects and traditions of the company are down to him and the tireless efforts he put into the company, recruiting much of the current team. Gareth remains actively involved however as an Associate Corporate Consultant.
Bill Brodie Good joined SRK Exploration permanently in 2015 after many years working in and around SRK. Bill helped establish a very healthy reputation for constructing and running large bespoke ‘turn key’ field exploration programmes. Bill’s ‘can-do’ philosophy and determination to provide outcomes in difficult situations now form part of the company ethos. Bill continues to work with SRK ES on a number of projects and remains a fervent advocate of the company
Andy Barrett is a geotechnical engineer who joined SRK Consulting in 1981, was appointed as General Manager of SRK South Africa in 1989 and served as Managing Director from 1992 to 1996. He was appointed as President of SRK North America in 1997. He has served as a Director of the SRK Group since 1996 and as Group CEO from 2004. As Group CEO, he serves as a director on most of SRK’s consulting practice boards.
Bill Kellaway has returned to the Board of SRK Exploration following a full time secondment as VP Exploration at TSX- V listed junior exploration company Alopex Gold Inc. Bill has built an in-house technical team at Alopex and is therefore now able to step back so that his technical input is more on a part time strategic basis whilst resuming his consulting work at SRK Exploration. At a Directors meeting following the EGM, Bill was elected to the role of Chairman. Bill who throughout his secondment remained very visible in Cardiff says “ It is great to come back at a very exciting time for the company which is moving forward to a bright future with a great young team”.
